Part of what makes your PDA useful is the easy access it provides to important information, such as your calendar, address book, notes, and to-do list. While all PDAs have this type of functionality, not all of them make the calendar, address book, notes, to-do list, or other functionalities available with a single tap. Everyone is different, so each of us will have our own priorities with regards to which features and applications we access the most. To put the applications and features you use most regularly in easy reach, you’ll want to customize the shortcuts on your PDA to make specific programs especially easy to access.
How To Customize
Look in your PDA’s menu settings for ways to customize both the main screen (typically called the Home screen or the Today screen) as well as your device’s hardware buttons. Some hardware buttons can have dual functionality: One program is accessible by pressing the hardware button while another program opens if you press and hold the same application button.
For Windows Mobile devices, you can also tap Start, Settings, and select Menus to choose which items you want to appear in the Start menu. Programs that do not appear in the Start menu are accessible from the Programs listing. Similarly, you can also customize the Windows Mobile Today screen by tapping Start, Settings, and selecting Today. Another way to customize Windows Mobile devices is with add-on software that provides links to programs from the home screen, such as with Spb Pocket Plus.
More Convenient
Regardless of which customization method you choose, one thing is sure: The convenience of accessing the functions you use most is certainly worth the time spent in customizing a few menus and buttons.
