PDAs are great complements to our computers. These pocket-sized devices let us carry important information from our computers with us wherever we go. However, as some new users will quickly find, not all PDAs come with the ability to view and edit some of the most commonly used document formats, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Thanks to the new Documents To Go Premium Edition, however, your Palm OS PDA can support these types of documents and more.

View & Edit

Documents To Go Premium Edition gives you the ability to view, edit, and create new files directly from your PDA. For users who have already made the jump to the latest version of Microsoft Office, this is the first mobile office suite to support 2007 files.

With this program, you can rehearse a PowerPoint presentation before a client meeting, review sales figures in Excel, revise a proposal written in Word, and much more. The possibilities are nearly endless. Some of the handy editing features include the ability to add new tables in Word, edit and create bullets and numbers, view footnotes and endnotes, copy text to the clipboard, sort spreadsheet data, and view cell comments. Of course, some features are limited while using your handheld, such as support for revision and editing marks when viewing a Word document. Overall, though, the program should handle the majority of your documents well.

That’s Not All

Along with Office document support, you’ll get the Zip & Send feature, which makes it easy to compress a file and email it to anyone. Additionally, by zipping a file, you can save valuable storage space on your mobile device.

PDF is another popular document format that is widely used today. With Documents To Go Premium Edition, you’ll be able to view PDFs, complete with support for embedded graphics and password-protected PDF files.

Although showing the complex formatting and layout of your documents may not be very practical on a smartphone, you don’t want to completely remove that formatting when you edit a document on your PDA. Recognizing that the way in which a document is formatted is important, DataViz built this software upon InTact Technology. With this feature, you’ll see only the information that your handheld supports, yet formatting information that cannot be displayed on a PDA, such as headers and footers, will still be preserved. After you’ve finished editing the document, Documents To Go Premium Edition merges the formatting information with the edited document so that the file you share with coworkers or access on a PC looks correct.

Be More Productive On the Go

Although your PDA is a great asset in helping you travel light, stay organized, and accomplish more on the go, it can be an even greater asset with the help of software such as Documents To Go Premium Edition.
