Should I Password-Protect My PDA?

By Jennifer Johnson, About.com

Question: Should I Password-Protect My PDA?
Answer:

Only you can decide whether or not you need to protect the information on your PDA with a password. Consider this, however, if your PDA contains sensitive or private information relating to your business, you may want to protect this data. By adding password protection to your PDA, you’ll make it harder for others to access this information. Furthermore, if your PDA were ever lost or stolen, strangers wouldn’t be able to gain information about your business without entering your password. Keep in mind that password protection isn’t perfect, but it may deter someone from stealing the data on your PDA.

On the other hand, if you’re willing to share the information on your PDA with relatively anyone, then a password may not be necessary. At the end of the day, choosing whether or not to protect the information on your PDA with a password is a very personal decision.

If you choose to password protect your PDA, it’s a good idea to change this password regularly.
