If your Palm PDA isn't working quite right, has frozen up, or something else just doesn't seem quite right, then you might need to reset it. By soft resetting your PDA, in essence, you're rebooting it, similar to when you reboot your computer. A hard reset is a last-resort option, since it will erase all of your programs and files and restore the PDA to factory conditions.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 minutes

Here's How:

  1. To soft reset your Palm PDA, first pull out the stylus or grab a paperclip.
  2. Next, look for the Reset button. It's typically located at the bottom of the PDA or on the back of the device. Sometimes, it's behind a battery cover.
  3. Insert the stylus or paperclip into the recessed reset button and then remove it.
  4. Wait for the PDA to reboot.

Tips:

  1. If you must perform a hard reset, try to back everything up first. If you don't, know that you'll lose your data.
  2. To hard reset your device, you'll need to hold down a button or two (often the power button) while resetting the device with a stylus or paperclip. Performing a hard reset varies from one device to the next, so refer to your user's manual for detailed instructions on how to hard reset your device and restore it to factory settings.
