palmOne is the former name of the company now known as Palm. When the hardware division of Palm merged with Handspring in August 2003, the company was renamed to palmOne. Then, in April 2005, palmOne purchased PalmSource’s share in the Palm trademark name. In July 2005, palmOne launched its new name, reverting back to Palm, Inc.
Palm, Inc. is the company that makes Palm-branded PDAs and smartphones. Today, Palm produces both handheld devices as well as an operating system for the devices.
