Contact Your About.com Guide to PDAs

Just like all the Guides at About.com, I'm a real person. Everything you see on the PDA site has been written by me.

In addition to writing for About.com, I also write for other media outlets. This keeps me busy, but also provides me with wonderful opportunties to stay current with all of today's latest and greatest gadgets and technologies.

As you can imagine, my work keeps me very busy, so I may not be able to respond to your email in a timely manner.

If you would like to email me directly, I would ask that you please read through the FAQ below to help answer a few questions before contacting me at palmtops.guide@about.com:

F.A.Q.

Q. What is a PDA and how do I get started with one?
A.

A PDA, or Personal Digital Assistant, is a small, handheld computer that generally includes a calendar, contact list, to do list, note taking abilities, and many other capabilities. In addition, you can add your own applications to a PDA to customize it better suit your needs.

If you're looking for more information about PDAs, including what they can do for you and how they differ from smartphones, visit my PDA Basics page for additional information.

Q. My PDA isn't working properly. Can you help me troubleshoot it?
A.

Due to workload and email volume, I'm unable to respond to troubleshooting problems individually. I encourage you to post your question in the PDAs Support Forum.

Not only are you more likely to get a quicker response from me there, but you'll also find other capable users who may have experienced similar problems and are able to help. The chances of getting a prompt reply are much better through a forum post than through a personal email to me.

Q. What PDA should I buy?
A. PDAs are great organizational tools, but no single PDA is right for everyone. I'd encourage you to check out my reviews of PDAs to get a better feel for which PDA will best suit your needs.

Q. I found something on your site that should be updated. How can I let you know about it?
A. Please email me with any suggested updates or dead links you may find. Your email will be most helpful if you can include a link to the page that needs updated and let me know exactly what you think needs to be changed. Keep in mind I'm just one person, so I do my best to keep everything current, but links go bad. I'll fix the problem as fast as I can.

Q. I have a general comment for you. May I send you an email?
A. Of course! Please know that it might be several days or longer before I am able to reply, but I do make a good effort to respond to every (polite) email I receive.

Q. I would like to suggest an article that would be a good addition to your site. Do you accept ideas for new content?
A. Most definitely. While I cannot guarantee I'll write the exact article you request, I certainly welcome your suggestions and input.

Q. I have a cool new product that I think you should review. How should I contact you?
A. Please email me with details concerning your product and I will consider it for review. Please keep in mind I do not guarantee that I will review your product even if you send it to me nor do I guarantee any review I write will be positive.

Q. I've found this site to be very useful and helpful. How can I thank you?
A. If any of my tips and tricks, reviews, troubleshooting information, or other articles have saved you time, frustration, or money, I'd love to hear about it! A quick "Thank You!" email is always appreciated and I will most certainly email you back.
