In-Flight Wi-Fi Available on 1 in 3 U.S. Planes

From Jennifer Johnson, About.com GuideJuly 20, 2010

The ability to surf the Internet from your PDA or other Internet-friendly device while flying across the country is becoming more and more common. Just a few short years after in-flight Wi-Fi became available, the service is now available on more than one-third of the nation's passenger planes. Of course, most of these plans only serve a few select routes, so unless you're criss-crossing the US frequently, you may not have had much of an opportunity to take advantage of this service.

If you're interested in finding out more about how you can surf the Internet from your PDA while flying, Computerworld has a good summary of which airlines offer Wi-Fi as well as a look at which airlines plan to offer the service in the future.
