During a recent interview with Engadget, Steve Ballmer revealed that Zune integration on Windows Mobile is coming in the next release of the software.
Given that Apple's iPhone has offered iTunes integration since Day 1, it's about time Microsoft got with the program and started integrating Zune functionality into its mobile OS. It's still unclear if Ballmer was referring to Windows Mobile 7 (which is expected sometime next year) or if he meant an intermediate Windows Mobile update, but the former seems a bit more likely.
