More Delays for the New Palm OS?
Thursday September 11, 2008
According to a recent story in the New York Times, Palm plans to announce the next generation of its software in the “first half of next year.” For Palm users who have been tracking the progress of this Linux-based version of Palm’s OS (also called Palm OS II) for some time, this signals more delays from the most recent “early 2009” target we heard back in January.
Of course, this isn’t the first delay: We’ve been following the development of this OS for nearly five years. With so many delays, and so many new devices from other manufacturers, a person has to wonder if Palm will ever recover its lost share of the market.
